José Pedro Fontes reaches the podium and Armindo Araújo is leading steadily in the Campeonato de Portugal de Ralis

Although Armindo Araújo took home the 7th position in the Rali Vinho da Madeira 2018, he still steadily leads the Campeonato de Portugal de Ralis. Ricardo Teodósio was placed in 5th ranking has shortened the distance between the winner but kept his runner-up rank at the Campeonato de Portugal de Ralis.

Alexandre Camacho rises to the first position of Campeonato da Madeira

Alexandre Camacho has risen to the first place of the Campeonato da Madeira Before this edition of the Rali Vinho da Madeira, João Silva was first (92 points) with one point in advance to Alexandre Camacho (91 points). Further away was Miguel Nunes, in third place, with 84 points.

After Alexandre Camacho’s triumph and João Silva withdrawal due to an accident in this edition of Rali Vinho da Madeira, the ranking suffered changes. Alexandre Camacho rose to first, Miguel Nunes to second and João Silva stepped down to third.

The Hyundai's part did not arrive on time for Basso

Automotive part of Basso’s Hyundai did not arrive on time Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai were kept out of the RVM´s last day due to a delivery delay of the Hyundai i20 R5’s part. The team left the car yesterday night in Parc Fermé hoping to retrieve the demanded automotive part this morning at Park of Service in order to participate in the second Leg of the RVM, during Rally 2. Nevertheless, this delay prevented the Italian team to continue the rally.

 

Basso did not show up for Rally 2 of RVM

 Giandomenico Basso did not show to the Parc Fermé for the exit for the Rally 2 this for the morning. 

Even though the team showed interest to participate in today's Rally 2 yesterday afternoon, they did not show up. Their transmission broke in the first SS of the day and they were forced to quit. They were in the list of participants for today's races, however, the Italian drivers did not show up at SS 12 - Câmara de Lobos 1 for unknown reasons.  

The Hyundai i20 R5 just arrived at the Parc Fermé. 

João Silva and Vítor Calado stable but still at the hospital

The organization of RVM informs that João Silva and Vítor Calado are stable under observation at the Hospital Dr.º Nélio Mendonça, without any major health issues. They are receiving all the medical care needed. 

The Madeiran pair had a car crash during SS 5 and the medical team responded right away. 

At that time, the Citroen DS3 R5 is already at the Park of Service.
