João Silva's crash forces new planning

After the accident of the pair João Silva / Vítor Calado at the SS5, the other vehicles will regroup and wait for the alternative route. 

The other participants that are in the SS5 are taking the liaison for the regrouping. Afterwards, a new timing will be given to the contestants. 

The Portuguese pair that was in the crash is on their way to the hospital for further medical assistance. 

 

Alexandre Camacho wins the first two SSs of the day, Basso with an uncertain future

The pair Alexandre Camacho/Pedro Calado won the first two SS of the day, while Basso has had a serious problem with his vehicle. 

Alexandre Camacho was the fastest at SS2 - Campo de Golfe 1 with the best time 00:07:00,1. While the second and the third spots were taken by two Madeiran drivers: João Silva (00:07:04,3) and Miguel Nunes (00:07:04,8). 

Teodósio has his eyes on prize of the Campeonato de Portugal

Willing to have a good result in Madeira, the driver Ricardo Teodósio, the second in the Campeonato de Portugal de Ralis ranking at present, confessed being fond of Rali Vinho da Madeira. “We want to do the best we can and it would be great to repeat our last performance,” he said. Remember that the Algarvian won the Rali de Castelo Branco – the last rally of Campeonato de Portugal – driving his Skoda Fabia R5.

Two teams drop out

Rali Vinho da Madeira is about to start and two teams decided to quit the race. The pairs #28 Artur Quintal / Wilson Aguiar and #61 Filipe Freitas / Daniel Figueiroa did not show up to the "Parc Fermé", due to mechanical issues. Consequently, they are officially out of the Rali Vinho da Madeira 2018.
