Group B "monsters" in Madeira

Rally Madeira Legend is about to start in two days and the competition organized by Club Sports da Madeira will have some of the most mythic models of this sport. Among these, the racing cars that have had more followers and enthusiasts belong to group B, removed from the competition by the end of 1986 due to their great power, at the time with less consensus for such competitions. In group B, several brands and models raced, but among these, some remained unforgettable in a passionate public. This elite group features the Audi Quattro S1 E2 or Lancia Delta S4, vehicles that will perform in the roads of the island by the end of the week. As the latest setups within the limits of the homologation in group B, both these models have central engines, rear engine in Lancia and front engine in Audi, all-wheel drive and a minimum weight of 960kg. Delta S4 has the particular aspect of a supercharged double system in its 4 cylinder and a little less than 1.800 cc, while the German car has an engine of 5 cylinder with about 2.200 cc.

Rally Madeira Legend: what it is and how does it work?

By the end of this week, Rally Madeira Legend, organized by Club Sports da Madeira, will hit the roads, an event that is open to historic racing cars that were legends in the motorsports competitions.  Even following the rally rules, or racing competition, this event is defined due to its specific features. The competition will be open to two types of vehicles, the Historic and the Spirit.  As the name can tell, Historic vehicles were built until the late 1986 and still have all its original characteristics, according to its homologation document at that time.
