"Never has the success of the Rally depended this much on Madeirans"
João Pedro Vieira, the City Councilor for Sports of the Municipality of Funchal, has visited this afternoon the operation centre of the Rally Vinho da Madeira.
In the context of his visit, the City Councilor left a message that consisted of "a word of incentive to all those involved in the organization of the race, since this is, by far, one of the biggest sport, social, cultural events, as well as one with a big economic impact on the economy of the Autonomous Region of Madeira".
Security is also one of the major concerns preoccupying João Pedro Vieira who, nonetheless, believes that "never has the success of the Rally depended this much on Madeirans". The Councilor then stressed the appeal that has been made, in the last few days, to comply with the safety recommendations put out by public health authorities. As he said: "This is a year with an extra special recommendation, which is the usage of the protective face mask and the enforcement of social distancing".
The Rally Vinho da Madeira goes on for various kilometers and, in his opinion, "it is possible for each of us to place oneself in safety and to follow the rules of the Health Authorities and of the Organization of the race".
