Miguel Nunes leading
Miguel Nunes, who won both Special Stages, is currently leading the Rally Vinho da Madeira after racing the first two Special Stages, of which some competitors complained due to the slippery and somewhat wet track. In second place is another Madeiran driver, Pedro Paixão, 3.2 seconds behind the leader. José Maria Lopez was second best at the Golf Court, but his performance fell a little at Palheiro Ferreiro, and so, he is now four seconds behind the lead.
Alexandre Camacho complained of his vehicle's tunning, and, even though he improved in PE 2, he stands in fourth place at 4.3 seconds behind the lead. The best CPR driver is currently Bruno Magalhães, fifth, who is catching up to Nunes by 7.3 seconds. João Silva lamented some lack of rhythm and in the adaptation to his vehicle and is now the sixth at 9.3 seconds behind the leader. Closing the top ten are three of the protagonists of the national championship, José Pedro Fontes, Armindo Araújo, Ricardo Teodósio and Pedro Meireles. Standing at the 11. th position, Gil Freitas is the best amongst the RGT drivers.
