Continuing to evolve

Miguel Caires will be driving his usual Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo in the Rali Vinho da Madeira and wants to ‘enjoy this magnificent event’. Given the ‘artists’ who will be there, the ingredients are in place for a magnificent and very competitive rally. Neither victory nor the podium is in anyone's hands. We don't think we're going to fight for it, but we'd like to stay on track here and there, always evolving.

We'll stay focused on the last stage, the last metre of the race, and try to be consistent. This has been a year above expectations. In what is supposed to be a year of evolution, we've already won six overall classifications. We're going to keep working to improve and offer even more spectacle in a race that we want to be ever richer.’

Caires is 42 years old and made his rally debut in 2019 with a Peugeot 208 R2. In the following two years, he divided his time between a Ford Fiesta R2T and a Ford Fiesta Rally4. In 2022, he was behind the wheel of a Renault Clio Rally4. Last year, he switched to a Skoda Fabia R5 and stood on the podium four times in the Madeira rallies. In 2024, he is in third place in the regional rally championship.
