Joachim Wagemans, who returned to Rali Vinho da Madeira this year with an Alpine A110 RGT, is, at this stage of the race, 8th overall in the event organised by Club Sports da Madeira. The Belgian driver has greatly extended his lead among the competitors with RGT cars and, near the end of the first round of Stage 2, has a lead of around two and a half minutes over Filipe Feitas, second in the group with a Porsche 991 GT3. Gil Freitas is third, with another Alpine A110 RGT, 5.1 seconds behind Freitas.
