“It will be an excellent edition with good cars and teams”
With 57 teams, the entry list for 2015 edition of Rali Vinho Madeira (RVM) was presented today, with the assurance by the chairman of the organising committee:
“It will be an excellent edition with good cars and good teams. There are drivers who know well Madeira and the madeiran roads, among them former winners”, stressed Paulo Fontes in the Press Conference held this afternoon in Madeira Tecnopolo. The rally will have ten R5 cars.
The current situation marked by finantial difficulties adding to the logistics and transports problem that damage the main motorsports regional event have been properly dealt with, according to him.
“We have good reasons to be happy with this list. To have such an entry list in the current situation is very positive. We will help portuguese motorsports and hope the transports issue is solved in the near future”, stressed Paulo Fontes.
Rali Vinho Madeira is still an excellent way of promoting Madeira destination. “The hotels are all full. Madeira will have full hotel occupation during the weekend. This rally is an extraordinary contribution towards the touristic promotion of”, he added.
MURAT BOSTANCI ON THE LIST
We are still not sure that the turkish driver Murat Bostanci will not be able to take part in Rali Vinho Madeira, quoting the organising committee chairman.
“He made and won the Rally of Bulgaria the last weekend, he will be in Bosphorus Rally this weekend with a Ford Fiesta S2000 and so far we have no confirmation that the driver won't be in Madeira. He is on the entry list”, He said, adding:
“I know he would like to be in Madeira, but we must remember that there are three top level events in a row. Unfortunatelly it was not possible to change this situation that is not good for those who want to promote these trophies. This is meant to prevent the drivers to attend all the events”, said Paulo Fontes quite annoyed.
Miguel Campos will miss RVM for sure as he “was not able to put +lace the car in Lisbon or Oporto on time to go onboard the ship”, stressed Paulo Fontes.
