Message from the regional Economy, Tourism and Culture secretary for the 2015 RVM

With everything ready for another edition of the Rally Vinho Madeira, our region is prepared to welcome the archipelago’s biggest automobile event, in a year which the Organizing Commitee has focused, once again, in quality and excellence.

With over five decades of existence, this rally attracts and awakes, year after year, the attention and interest of thousand of locals and tourists, in a sports event that is lived with enthusiasm, joy and great excitment, on and off the road.

The human frame that follows, since the first minute until the last day, each and every step of this rally, makes it different from all the other similiar initiatives that occur in the country or even abroad. That is why we believe that Rally Vinho Madeira is no longer a simple competition, but has become a genuine social and cultural manifestation, which is worth preserving, but also, enhancing and valuing, particularly among our visitors.

Nationally and internacionally aknowldegded, the Rally Vinho Madeira has had and important contribution on the publicity and promotion of the archipelago and its image, beyond every frontier.

Like in so many other events and initiatives, we recognize the existence of a growth possibility, in which Madeira is commited to work for, in a strategy that being transversal to every entertainment event, may assess returns, turning them into opportunities that can work, objectively, in favour of our Economy and, of course, in favour of a growing competitiveness and attractiveness of the tourism sector of our Region.

To the Organizing Committee, to all those who contributed to its realization and, of course, to each participant that will most certainly ensure a great amount of entertainment on our roads, I would like to wish the greater success, in the certainty that, once again, this Rally Vinho Madeira will fulfill all the  expectations.

Eduardo Jesus
