2016 edition assures competition on the road

In the first official presentation of the 57th edition of Rali Vinho Madeira (RVM), the Organizing Committee annouced a provisional entry list of 55, so far with the confirmation of four foreign drivers.

Chairman José Paulo Fontes confirmed the presence of the frenchman Romain Dumas, member of Porsche official team, winner of the known 25 Hours of Le Mans.He is joined by the italian Giacomo Constenaro, the spanish Javier Pardo and the return of italo-french Robert Cosani who, knowing already the madeiran event will certainly fight for the top places.

For that, he will have to fight Bruno Magalhães, once again coming to Madeira, where he won four times.

Other headlights to the coming back of Alexandre Camacho, Miguel Nunes, João Silva and Miguel Campos, besides the usual participations of the national drivers Ricardo Moura (won this year's Rali dos Açores), Pedro Meireles and José Pedro Fontes.

“These are drivers who are included in an interesting list and they assure fierce competition on the road, thus denying the idea of a poor edition of the event”, stressed José Paulo Fontes, pleased with another Rali Vinho Madeira “an event that helps the local economy in many madeiran councils”.

The leading race of madeiran motorsports is part, this year, of TER – Tour European Rally that, as stressed José Paulo Fontes, “has the main goal of increasing the visibility and touristic promotion of participating regions”.

 

Two night stages and changes in he route

Due to the great attendance of the public in the last year's night stage, and to facilitate the circulation of fans and cars, 2016 edition will have two night stages. On friday, before the night round in  Terreiro da Luta (22h18), will be done Serragem stage, through Santo da Serra (21h25), an area with good access, that will for sure have a lot of fans.

There are also some changes in the route, due to road works, namely just outside Tecnopolo, with the cars going up Avenida das Madalenas, to avoid the jams by Ribeira de São João.

On Saturday, in Câmara de Lobos, the way out will be through Ribeira Alforra.

 

Service Park returns to Avenida Sá Carneiro

In 2016, Service Park will return to Avenida Sá Carneiro, an area that in previous years has wellcomed many fans, wishing to watch closely the work of the drivers and teams working in a competition like Rali Vinho Madeira.

For this reason, the way out to Thursday Super stage will be done n the Post Office area, facing La Vie.

Agreement brings advantages to madeiran teams

The Organizing Committee of Rali Vinho Madeira 2016 made public an agreement made with the leading tyres and equipments providers, to give special prices to madeiran driver taking part in the rally.

“Aware of the high costs of the participation of madeiran teams in the rally, the Organization wants this way to help on the expenses, mainly with the pruchase of tyres”, informed the chairman.

This way, the agreement with QF Lda – Mário Quintaneiro, provider of Pirelli tyres, and other parts, were agreed the following deductions:

Pirelli –10%
Sparco - 20%
Alpinestars - 15%
Sabelt - 20%
Stilo - 20%
Lazer - 25%
Galfer - 30%
Fastime - 20%

And another 30 vouchers of 100 euros each, for each participant, to buy the equipments represented by the company.

With Sport Pneus - João Magalhães, provider of Michelin tyres, was agreed a 6% deduction in the purchases of madeiran drivers entered in Rali Vinho Madeira 2016.
