A victory in 2015 edition of Rali Vinho Madeira (RVM) would have a special taste for Bruno Magalhães.
On this date 16 years ago was the first appearance of the portuguese driver in madeiran event.
In 1999, the young Magalhães was in the race until the last stage in Chão da Lagoa, when an wheel of his Ford Escort went loose.
The quality he showed in Madeira, earned Bruno Magalhães his father's trust: “As you did a good rally, you will drive my car from now on”.
This episode is reminded by Augusto Magalhães, veteran of portugues motorsports, who came often to the Tour of the island and Rali Vinho Madeira, first with a Ford Escort and then with a Mitshubishi Evo 5, between 1986 and 1999. His best performanace was in 1995, a second place in Group N.
In the last years he has come back to Madeira to watch his son on the road and had the chance to celebrate three victories.
Now, he expects that Bruno Magalhães wins for the fourth time and thus catch Giandomenico Basso in the list of the drivers with more victories in RVM.
