Alexandre Camacho arrives in Funchal after racing the 4.th section with an advantage of 4 seconds over “Pepe” Lopez. With a good performance at the North of the island, Bruno Magalhães consolidated, for a moment, the lowest spot at the podium. Facing some difficulties at the passage by Serra d’Água, Boaventura and Santana, Giandomenico Basso is still fourth with a 15.8 seconds difference from the leader.

            Miguel Nunes raced the fifth section with a 21.7 seconds delay, an important difference from Giandomenico Basso, but, also, holds a good advantage of 13.7 seconds over José Pedro Fontes, sixth and, in terms of the PRC, second. João Silva is the seventh in absolute standings followed by Armindo Araújo. Miguel Barbosa and Pedro Meireles close the top 10. Pedro Paixão won the last timed stage in this section, a Special Stage in which Ricardo Teodósio broke a car rim and lost about three and a half minutes.
