Enjoying the rally to the fullest
Luis Miguel Rego, from Azores, is back to Madeira with the idea of enjoying the rally to the fullest and promote Azores in such beautiful Island of Madeira. “I’ve found this rally last year and I believe it’s one of the best in asphalt. It is a competition that demands deep knowledge and so, in 2021, we will be fighting against ourselves, trying to improve our 2020 performance. Rali Vinho da Madeira has a very competitive list of entries, being so, we will be doing the maths throughout the competition to know where we will be standing. And that’s why we promise to do our best”.
Rego is 30 years old and started the rally in 2008 with a Mitsubishi Carisma GT. Two years later, he changed to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, improving his performance and, a year and a half later, being able to watch its outcome. In 2016, he was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta and got his first triumph in the Azores Championship the following year.
In 2018 and 2019 Rego became the Regional Champion of such sport, a titles that he still holds, as in 2020 there were no championships performed in the Archipelago of the Azores. In 2021, he represents the Azores in the National Championship and he is the 5th in that Archipelago, after he withdrew in the opening championship of the Rali Ilha Azul.
