Miguel Nunes reinforces his leadership at the end of section 1

Miguel Nunes keeps his leadership position at the Rally Vinho da Madeira. The Skoda Fabia Evo driver won all the Special Stages that composed section 1, and has a 7.6 seconds advantage over his competitors. Pedro Paixão is holding on to the good rhythm with which he raced in the inaugural Special Stages, and is also holding strongly to his second place position. In third place is now Alexandre Camacho, who, little by little, is adjusting to his Citroën C3 R5 and has managed to overtake José Maria Lopez.

The Madeiran driver has, nonetheless, also lost some ground to Bruno Magalhães, positioned fourth and, clearly, the best amongst those competing for the national championship. "Pepe" Lopez complained about his vehicle's tunning, as well as about some minor precisions regarding his guidance notes, and is now positioned fifth, ahead of João Silva, who, slowly, has been adapting better to the vehicle he is debuting in this competition.

Many of those who traditionally entertain the followers of the Portuguese Rally Championship are coming behind, with José Pedro Fontes and Armindo Araújo currently fighting for the sixth position, separated by 4.5 seconds from each other. Further back are Ricardo Teodósio and Pedro Meireles, fighting for the last places of the plot of the top ten classified. At eleventh place, Filipe Freitas is now the best amongst those driving RGT.
