Miguel Andrade, behind the wheel of a Renault 5 GT Turbo, won the Rally Madeira Legend after a final head to head battle with Rui Conceição, in a Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The gap between the two first positions was just 1,7 seconds, the same difference that existed after the sixth special stage of the competition, as many competitors had to carefully drive the last stage due to an accident, without any serious consequences, of César Freitas with a Ford Escort Mk I.
In the lowest position of the podium was João Martins, driving a Ford Escort Mk I, and one of the most cherished drivers of this rally from its beginning. In the following positions were Cláudio Nóbrega, one of the stars of the show, with a o Nissan Datsun 1200, and Eduardo Veiga, driver of the Ford Escort Mk II. No longer essential for the final outcome of the event, the rally ends with the special stage show at 19:17 hours at Avenida Sá Carneiro.
