Rali Vinho da Madeira has just started

The 63rd Rali Vinho da Madeira, an event organized by the Club Sports da Madeira, which will be on the road between today and next Saturday, has already started. The programme still foresees for today the opening Super-Special Stage on the Avenida do Mar, with the Avenue already full of people anxiously waiting for the return of the drivers and machines to downtown Funchal.

Alexandre Camacho was the fastest in Shakedown

Alexandre Camacho, driving a Skoda Fabia Raly2 Evo, was the fastest driver in the Shakedown of the 63rd Rali Vinho da Madeira, with a time of 1:52.3. The second-best time was achieved by another Madeiran driver, Miguel Nunes, with an identical vehicle, and by the Spaniard Alejandro Cachon, driving a Citroën C3 Rally2, only two tenths of a second behind. Armindo Araújo, third fastest in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, was three tenths of a second behind the fastest. The best times were obtained at the beginning of the session as rain appeared and most of the competitors chose to finish their work. The best marks obtained in the Shakedown can be consulted here.

Miguel Correia opens the road on the 1st Special Stage

Miguel Correia, in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, will be the driver who tomorrow opens the road, starting the 2nd section of the Rali Vinho da Madeira. The drivers following him in the starting order are José Pedro Fontes in a Citroën C3 Rally2 and Armindo Araújo in a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. The remaining starting order will include, by this sequence, Simone Campedelli, Ricardo Teodósio. Bruno Magalhães, Alejandro Cachon, Miguel Nunes, Alexandre Camacho, Bernardo Sousa, Pedro Meireles, Paulo Neto, Pedro Almeida, Paulo Caldeira and Ernesto Cunha. Armindo Araújo was the best in Qualifying

Armindo Araújo, with a time of 1:53,1, was the fastest driver in the Qualifying Stage of the Rali Vinho da Madeira. The Skoda Faia Rally2 Evo driver will now have primacy in the choice of his starting order for the first stage of Club Sports da Madeira organization. Right behind Araújo were Simone Campedelli, who spent seven tenths of second more with an identical car, and Miguel Correia, 1.4 seconds behind in another Skoda Faia Rally2 Evo.
