The 2021 edition of RVM has the same itinerary as last year. Nevertheless, it is going to present a new Qualifying system and a Power Stage. José Paulo Fontes believes that Madeira will have a very competitive rally and asks everyone who is going to watch it to do it safely and be vaccinated: “It’s important that the RVM is not a dissemination factor of Covid 19”. Regarding such situation, he has announced the development of a set of measures by the Regional Health Authorities. 
The President of the Organization Committee of RVM 2021 assured that public health should be considered a priority.
José Paulo Fontes has announced that the grant amount of the region is 250 million euros, an amount that reflects the time we live in now. RVM is a lot more than a motorsport competition, as the Island stops with the rally and the social and economic benefits are higher than its costs.
