Simone Campedelli keeps running away from the caravan

After a "scare" at the end of today's first round of rali Vinho da Madeira, Simone Campedelli returned to the pace he had been showing until then and has, in the two special stages already contested this afternoon, been the best. The Italian, driving a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, recovered the time lost in Santana 1 and now has a 16.1 second lead over the rest of the caravan.

In second place is the Spaniard Diego Ruiloba, who complained about the behaviour of his Citroën C3 Rally2 on the second pass through Palheiro Ferreiro. Armindo Araújo meanwhile consolidated third place. Fourth and fifth respectively, Alexandre Camacho and Miguel Nunes will be separated by 4.7 seconds, with the advantage going to the driver making his debut in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
