Sustainability is the "way forward for motorsport"
Brama Motorsports is the company responsible for supplying fuel to the drivers taking part in Rali Vinho da Madeira. André Cortinhas, managing partner and experienced motorsport professional, both as a driver and team coordinator, explained the importance of the new features introduced at Rali Vinho da Madeira in terms of environmental sustainability.
The cars are fuelled by ETS fuel, which, among other products, offers "a sustainable petrol that doesn't use any fossil fuels and is 100 per cent created in laboratories. It is mapped so that it is suitable for this type of circuit vehicle, off-road and used in all types of motorised sport."
In addition to the fuel, ABSO Environmental Canvas is being used, developed in laboratories and production plants in the north of the country. The special feature is that it complies with the FIA's requirements: "the lower base, which touches the ground, is waterproof and the upper part repels water and absorbs petrol, liquid oils and valvolines", respecting the parameters required by the FIA.
André Cortinhas believes that "this will be the way forward", although there is some resistance to the changes on the part of the drivers, due to the tests that have to be carried out on the vehicles, it is certain that "they fully realise that this is the way forward."
