Alexandre Camacho: “A good result would be a place in the top three”
The Citroen DS3 R5 is being prepared by Delta Rally, the same team that prepares the car for Robert Consani and Bruno Magalhães' Peugeot.
Alexandre Camacho and Pedro Calado have not tested the car yet, but have followed part of the work.
“We have tavelled to Italy to know all the structure that is preparing the car for Rali Vinho Madeira (RVM) and this leaves us very confident. The car will arrive on Monday and then we will have the chance to make adaptation tests and the needed settings. We have a lot of things to prepare so that everything goes well during the three days of the event”, told Alexandre Camacho.
Team Vespas driver hopes he will have a fast adaptation to the car to deliver “200 percent” in this 56th edition of RVM.
I hope I will have a good result and that would be a place in the top three. To win would be the cherry on top of the cake. To win everything must go well and also be lucky. But I think the main candidate to victory is Bruno Magalhães. He knows the rally well and also the car and so he will have an advantage over us”, said the current leader of Coral Rallies Championship.
To Alexandre Camacho, Group R5 assures this RVM competitivity: “I think it will be very even as the cars are very similar, but we are confident for being able to take part with this car. It is a dream we have been chasing for a long time and this year it will be made true.”
Last year, the madeiran driver drove a Porsche 911 / 997 GT3 and was third overall in RVM.
