Miguel Nunes leads Rali Vinho Madeira at the end of the second day
Miguel Nunes leads the 2015 edition of Rali Vinho Madeira at the end of the second day.
Showing a good adaptation to the brand new Ford Fiesta R5, the madeiran driver managed to "jump" to the leadership in the last stage of friday, in Terreiro da Luta 2, and after 11 SS did so far the time of 1.16.14.8 hours, staying with a 4.2 seconds advantage over the second place, who is José Pedro Fontes.
Fontes, driving a Citroen DS3, finishes the day with the time of 1.16.19.0, after having won the 6th through 9th stages of today, having been in the leadership taking advantage of Alexandre Camacho bad luck.
Team Vespas driver, with a Citroen DS3, had a great start of the day, winning four stages in a row. Camacho reached a 13 seconds advantage over the second place.
A puncture justa at the start of the sixth stage would make him fall to the seventh place, having then lost 1.17 minutes and giving up the chance of winning Rali Vinho Madeira.
The recovery of Magalhães
After a long struggle, Delta Rally team managed to identify and solve the problem in the Peugeot 208 T16 of Bruno Magalhães and the three times winner of RVM, who had been 16 seconds away from the leadership, finished the day in third place and, more important, only 5.8 seconds behind Miguel Nunes and just 1.6 secods away from José Pedro Fontes, giving the expectation of a tight competition on Sunday.
Top five is complete with João Barros, in a time of 1.17.03, and at last, Alexandre Camacho who, even after his puncture, managed to close the day among the top five in 1.17.23.2 hours.
