After doing five stages, the top drivers changed the tyres at the Serice Park. The choice was unanimous, with all the cars using the RK5 of the italian Pirelli, while those using Michelin took the M31. But there other works on the cars: José Pedro Fontes' team, for example, made a carefull cleaning of the brakes disks, while the staff of the madeiran Miguel Nunes, besides checking the brakes, changed the tyres betting in four brand new RK5 Pirelli.

The azorean Ricardo Moura tried to improve the setting of his car, and Bruno Magalhães pointed out as the main problem the lack of power in his Peugeot.

Alexandre Camacho: «It is going very well. We knew we had to run away a little more from the following cars and we did it. We were able to keep a strong pace and won another two stages. We will try to keep it this way!»
José Pedro Fontes: «Wea rae trying to fight, but Alexandre is doing an excellent rally. We will try to press harder now, but Alexandre must be a great driver to do theses times.»

Miguel Nunes: «Estamos a fazer um bom rali, com um bom ritmo. Gostava de chegar mais próximo do José Pedro Fontes e dos dois Citroen´s em geral mas eles estão com um ritmo muito forte. Vamos ver o que conseguimos fazer mais.»

Bruno Magalhães: «O balanço é negativo. O nosso carro não anda... mas porque é que ele não anda não me sabem dizer. Tinha muita ambição para este rali mas a minha prova está desfeita!»

Gil Freitas é o novo campeão nacional de RGT

Com a desistência de Carlos Freitas, Gil Freitas sagrou-se campeão nacional de RGT. 
«O azar de uns, é a sorte de outros, mas os ralis são assim. Penso que acabei por ser premiado pela regularidade que tive nas provas do continente», exaltou o piloto.

A dupla feminina Isabel Ramos/Carina Barros continua em prova, ocupando a 20ª posição da geral, ao fim da 5ª PEC. Neste último parque de assistências, a piloto procurou apostar em pneus mais duros à frente e em pneus médios atrás.
