Funchal Town Hall embraces Rali Vinho Madeira
Paulo Cafofo, the president of the Town Hall of Funchal, just signed the protocol reaffirming their commitment to the Rali Vinho da Madeira. Every year, the Town Hall provides logistical support to the organization, but this year was reinforced with the contribution of 25,000 €.
"Rali Vinho da Madeira is one of the biggest events to promote the city of Funchal. The race starts and finishes here, the race that is the Madeiran people's hearts. This is a special moment for us, the rally cars run on our streets but the fervour runs in our veins. The Rali Vinho da Madeira is a brand of excellence, due to the effort of the organization at the Centro Operacional do Rali Vinho da Madeira, at Madeira Tecnopolo. Even though it has had better days in terms of positioning within the European championship, the organization has not given up and their performance has kept intact throughout the years. The great professionalism is highlighted and a lot of attention is given to security measures, which is pilar for the success of the event. Some of the most interesting classifications are in downtown Funchal and our goal is that the rally continues to be a reference bringing the most international drivers and keeping the mystical and charism that defines it".
"Our investment is because of the promotion of our city and island. It is also a vital link that unites to our Madeiran diaspora. The rally allows the amazing sights of Madeira to be shown, thus there is inherit promotion of our region. We depend on tourism and on these events that bring the recognition and notoriety beyond borders. All of this due to the work of the organization and the support of the Madeiran people, we are going to keep in the "pole position" and keep rising!"
Before signing the protocol, there was a guided tour in the Centro Operacional do Rali Vinho da Madeira for the president of Funchal Town Hall. Paulo Cafofo was motivated in learning all the different tasks and "pleasantly surprised by the headquarters of Rali Vinho Madeira" he concluded.
