After SS9 was stopped, the remaining competitors to run the stage, proceeded to Service Park.
After the incident involving the duo Joaquim Alves/Luis Ramalho during SS9-Ribeiro Frio 2, the Rali Vinho Madeira Organization decided to cancel the stage and move towards a regrouping at the Service Park.
The drivers who finished the stage will follow the route until the Service in Funchal as was programmed. For those who did not start the stage, the alternate route is being implemented to route them into Service Park.
A solution is being deliberated and the control centre with regard to the time that will be attributed for the competitor after Miguel Nunes.
According to the Organization of the RVM, after the accident were safety measure has been implemented and resources deployed, with the drivers being immediately attended to by the First Intervention Vehicle with a team of doctors and nurses. Joaquim Alves complained of lumbar pain and was, therefore, extricated, immobilized on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to the nearest emergency centre.
After the regrouping, the event will proceed with SS10 - Serragem.
